# View your environment's resources

> Use LocalOps resource tags to find, inventory and analyze the cost of your environment's AWS resources

We tag all the resources created by LocalOps with specific keys and values that you can use to locate your resources
from your AWS console.

These tags are useful for:

* **Inventory** - list every AWS resource that belongs to an environment, so you always know what LocalOps provisioned
  in your account.
* **Cost analysis** - break down your AWS bill by environment and see exactly how much each environment costs to run.

## View all resources in an environment

1. Find the tag keys and values added by LocalOps in your environment's **Overview** tab (**Environment > Overview**)

2. Open the [AWS Resource Explorer](https://resource-explorer.console.aws.amazon.com/resource-explorer/home#/search)
   from your AWS console

3. Search using the tag key and tag value to view all the resources associated with your application environment. Be
   sure to replace them with the ones from your environment's **Overview** tab.

   Tag key:

   ```text theme={null}
   tag.key:acmecorp.loc.env-id
   ```

   Tag value:

   ```text theme={null}
   tag.value:627e8bb2-2667-46aa-943b-b93d5924fced
   ```

4. You can further organize and manage these resources by creating
   [AWS Resource Groups](https://console.aws.amazon.com/resource-groups/home) using these tags.

## Analyze costs by environment

1. Open the [Cost allocation tags](https://console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home#/tags) page in the AWS Billing console
2. Find the LocalOps tag key (for example, `acmecorp.loc.env-id`) under **User-defined cost allocation tags** and
   activate it
3. Open [AWS Cost Explorer](https://console.aws.amazon.com/cost-management/home#/cost-explorer) and group or filter
   costs by that tag key to see the spend for each environment

<Note>
  AWS can take up to 24 hours for a newly activated cost allocation tag to appear in Cost Explorer, and costs are only
  tracked from the time the tag is activated.
