Sandbox environments

If your team wants to spin up isolated test environments to perform any internal testing usecase, like functionality testing, performance benchmarking etcc., Sandbox environments can be spinned up in your Cloud using LocalOps.

How to create Sandbox environments

  1. Designate one of your cloud accounts to spin up Sandbox environment.
  2. Create connection with purpose "Sandbox"
  3. Spin up app environment

Step 1 - Designate a cloud account

Decide which cloud account will host sandbox environments.

Step 2 - Create a connection

Skip this step if the designated cloud account is already added as connection.

Follow all the steps provided in connecting cloud account guide to create a cloud connection. Set the purpose of this connection to "Sandbox"

Connections with "sandbox" purpose can only be used to create sandbox environments.

Step 3 - Spin up app environment

Use the connection created above and create a new App environment from App environments tab. Refer to this guide. Pick "Sandbox" as environment type when asked.

Members with QA role or Developer role can create sandbox app environments as a long a Connection exists with "Sandbox" purpose.
