Custom Domains

Attaching a custom domain to an App Environment on a LocalOps platform allows you to use a personalized web address for your application instead of a generic domain provided by the LocalOps.

Additionally, LocalOps ensures that every configured custom domain is automatically protected with SSL, providing enhanced security and encryption for your web traffic by default.

This guide will cover the general steps to attach a custom domain to your App Environment.

Prerequisites

1. Running App Environment

You need to have a running App Environment in LocalOps for which you will be attaching a custom domain in the following guides. And your role in LocalOps account should be either Administrator or Operations.

2. Purchase a Domain

Purchase a domain from a domain registrar if you don't already have one. Popular domain registrars include - GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.

3. Permission to add DNS records

You must have the necessary permissions to add DNS records to your domain's DNS settings. You will needs this permission because in the following articles you will be guided to add DNS records to verify the ownership of your domain and to route traffic to your App Environment.
